383 Starter

Just dropped a 383 into my 70 Dart. I do not have a starter for it yet. Wondering if I can use a starter from a 318, Dodge Dakota? Would like to install the smaller, high torque starter. Howard

Yeppers! Use the later model mini starters and you will be happy. The terminal adapter may have to be removed and the big cable gets a little close to the block but a better deal.

Another question, (should have included this in first post): I'm running Shumacher hedders. Hoping there are no clearance issues with these.

The mini starter works fine with the Schu's. An early (pre 73?) starter, the shorter one will work, but the later, longer one will not work.
