I'm getting close with my build, and I'm debating what camshaft I want to run. I've got a 218/224 113.5+3 in the motor right now. 11.6:1 static, and 9:1 dynamic. I want power from 3000-6500/7000 for road racing. My 5.7 heads flow over 300 by .400 lift, and I've got a ported 6.1 intake on the forged 5.7.

What cam are you running? What has peaked your interest in the past? And what does the rest of your build look like?

Also, do y'all have any links to dyno graphs with 220+ duration camshafts? I searched lx forums, but very few guys have 220+ duration camshafts.

Thanks!

I have a little different animal than you, I'm running a forged 6.1 with ported 6.1 heads (10.1:1 CR). My cam is 229/234 @050 on a 113lsa. But it's a superchaged hemi.

I did have a similar combo to what you are running in my 06 Charger a few yrs ago. I have a 5.7 based 383 stroker with ported 6.1 heads with ported 6.1 intake. The cam was 218/224 just like urs.. I was running 11.4's in a 4200lb four door Charger.

That is SMOKIN!!! 11.4 @ 4200- wow. Can't wait to see what your current combo in your dart does with 684 RWHP!

Do you have dyno graphs for either combo?

Stu at Inertia recommended the SRTMAX Plus as about the biggest you can go without piston to valve issues with stock slugs.

Other places say you can go larger but you need to retard the cam.

Listen to him.. Stu is good he is who built my 5.7 based stroker.. Webber is another good reputable builder.

Rat-

This is a forged 5.7, 11.6:1 compression, these are not stock slugs.

The SRT Max plus is advertised as 218/223. What I have is 218/224. It is a Frank Racing grind. This is pretty much the smallest I am considering at the moment. I like Jerry's results with a 5.7 with the 392 crate cam, and I liked a 6.1 curve on Moparts with a 224/228 cam. I was hoping for more feedback in the 220-240 cam range...

Does Jerry from Sharadon come around here anymore? And what about Stu? There was the tx swim dad guy that lived in Austin and had a thread but I couldn't find it.

No problem - just thought Stu,s advice might be helpful re-P-V.
