Hi, just wanted to post some pic's of my A833 4 speed rebuild, just picked it up on craigslist, date code is 6/27/70, out of a Duster.

Remove reverse gear, and lean housing

Remove tail housing gear cluster, replace bearings, re assemble.

Thanks, this is probably my 4th rebuild, there is alot of info out there, and the rebuild kit was $100 from Brewers, great guy's to work with!

What is the the trick to hold the countershaft end bushings in place?
I put mine all together and the front bushing slipped and I had to dissemble the whole trans. @#$%^&.

I put some grease on them, and put a piece of 3/4 inch conduit the exact with of the counter shaft inside of it. Once you start to put the shaft back in you may need to use a long screw driver to move the washers around to line them up.
