Here is a great 413 Industrial Block out of the Oil fields of So Cal.
Never overheated and low hours run only on Propane.

Still standard and nice

Hot Tanked/Magged/Pressure Tested

I bought six industrial Blocks in the late 1970's AND
this particular block Sonic tested the very best of them. However, my Max
Wedge racing days are over. I saved this one only as it was
the best!!

I would not hesitate to bore it 426 or even 440 if it was me.

Late 72 casting

$395.

Very cool. Just for fun, How much HP do you think this block would hold with a girdle tying the beefy sidewall to the main studs and built by a rep shop?

I made 826HP with one @493 CI and Indy 440 -1 Heads and it held together
for 8 years of racing and my buddy who bought it has street raced it for a number of years
with a 250 shot. It still leaks down pretty well still!

I think built right, with cross bolt caps and a girdle it would handle 1000. I think boring it but leaving it a lil thicker than std 440, Whatever that ends up being would be best. Less cylinder distortion. Probably a great NOS or Pressurized base block. It's good to hear it took 825 and carried on. Goodluck, someone is getting a deal!!

Thanks for all this information men, lets let it role now with less commentary/information.
