Hey guys. I am building a low deck 499. It'll have TF 270's on it, so max wedge ports. I have an Indy 4150 max wedge port intake I'm going to be using, but i have a 4500 dommy carb. I know there is an adaptor to make it work, but does it really choke down the flow? Is there something i can do to the adaptor/intake to improve flow? Which adaptor has anyone used that works well? also, Just curious if anyone has had a side by side comparison to a 4500 intake to a 4150 intake. Thanks guys!

I used that adapter before it supposed to add a couple of hp from my understanding, I did do a test with dominator carb vs 4150 dominator did run faster in 1/4 mile but wasn't on the same night and 4150 carb was very rich ..... If you have the hood clearance I'd use it

Both cars using the adapter spacer

Wilson makes a 1/2 spacer is hood clearance becomes a issue

I was running a RB block so with the 6 pack scoop the carb was right up against the top of the scoop, but when I put the pro stock scoop I had plenty of room heads were Indy ez-1

I have asked a few big name guys about this. Ur intake will be ok with ur 4150 but will never flow enough air to supply the heads and engine. It becomes the choke point. The adaptor and domo carb will help a little. I am in the process of getting a Super Victor and a 1250 domo for my 470 stroker. By all means try uR stuff out as it may get u to where u want/need to be. Kim
