Why don't you use these pistons in your 383? They have the same bore size.

Yes, I'm sure.

The stock bore on a 383, 426 wedge, and 426 hemi is 4.25" or 4 1/4".


I used a stock 383 piston to degree the cam when I built my dad's Hemi. It is easier to use the flat top piston than a domed piston to degree the cam. After the cam was set up, I put the correct dome piston in. And stock flat top 383 pistons are easier and cheaper to find.
