Not sure if I missed it, but did you check the rotor phasing on the distributor? Any signs of spark scatter under the cap?
 
do you have an extra cap to verify?

I just checked to see if the cap was black or burnt inside, I don't have an extra MSD cap to drill a hole in order to see the phasing, supposedly MSD checks these Pro Billet distributors before they leave the plant to ensure the phasing is correct, the ignition only has about 200 miles on it.
