440 crate small block

-
My engine builder has one but states that he'd rather have a regular block with water jackets because of immense heat buildup. It makes tons of power but just not practical for the street.

hmmmm
makes you wonder how smallblock siamese bore chev 400's do it
with any hp amount.

Siamesed bores overheating is a wives tale. The problem with Chevy's 400 was in the coolant passage design which gave the siamese bore its bad name. I wouldn't and dont hesitate to run a siamese bore on the street.

Where/who are you buying it from...

I havent gone that far yet, I'm trying to find out if one would be ok in a street driven car and any advice on where to get one,who would be best to get one from and cost etc...
It wouldn't be an everyday driver, but I'd want it to be reliable with no overheating issues and pretty good street manners.
Cheers, Mark

what about the mopar performance 440 commando small block? is anyone running one of these?
