440 head gaskets

Curious about these head gaskets. Right now... im about .015 in the hole with 452 heads which are about 90cc chambers. Im looking to bump compression on my build. With a .039 gasket im about 9.4.. with a .020 gasket i can get that up to my 9.7 goal. Would these be ok?

You can mill the heads .020 and use the steel shim head gaslets and you will be fine.You will need to rejet the carb and re-adjust the timing and make sure you have adjustable rockers,mrmopartech

It hasnt been built yet working on the short block now. But i just measured my in the hole and did my calculations and not were i want to be. Id like to be in the 9.7-9.8 area. Without cutting the heads from my calculations the .019 thou off from the gaskets will get me in that range.

I have used the steel shim head gaskets many times and have always performed well. Just make sure your heads are flat.
