If your looking for low budget I have a Rock Island 1911 that cost $349 out the door and its pretty darn nice.They had a good write up in shotgun news once. If your looking to buy an original in the $200-$400 range well good luck with that. It would have to be a pretty rough original gun or stolen to get that cheap.The cheapest Colt I ever found was $600 and it had been re-blued.

Or find a Norinco Chinese 1911 clone. They are brand new at $300
