Am running a slightly modified 850 Thermoquad by Deamonsizzler, have received a 850 competition series, an 4846S T/Q in a trade. Are they any better than the set up I already have, or as I have heard rumors of, not good on the street?

Probably need to ask David that question, since he modified it. Nobody here would know what he did to it.

emailed him and have not heard back anything. But also knew that others here have run them and was just wondering if they are good on the street or not.

4846S = 850cfm 4847S = 1000cfm, these have press in jets.

4846/4847- SA -models are later models with screw in jetting

I think these are the early 69/70/71 carbs with the angled idle air screws. Jets are very hard to find and expensive. The 1,000cfm carb was a bit finicky on the street, need to keep idle rpm higher. They probably wont run much better than what you have if your happy with your carb.
