How do a standard 4 speed and OD 4 speed differ?(sm blk)
Can you just replace a 4 speed OD with a standard 4 speed or are there
differences?
.. i.e. bell housing,clutch,shifter etc?

They are basically the same transmission externally. The 3/4 gear lever is flipped upside down (reversing the operation). 4th gear becomes 3rd (direct drive)and 3rd becomes the OD gear.

Edit: Forgot to say that the OD transmissions have a larger input bearing retainer. I think it was 5.25 inches. You will need a OD bell housing.

If you had the od already and your looking to go to a normal 4 speed you can probably get a ring to take up the gap of the oversized od input bearing retainer. brewers sells them might be easier than finding/swapping a bell.

Shifter mechanisms will interchange. Like said the 3/4 shift rod is flipped on an od. The reverse and 1/2 rod should swap over and the 3/4 I'm not sure if it would swap over.
