5 speed transmissions

how many guys have got new tremec or similar 5 speed close ratio manual trans for there a bodies? do you like them? does it make the car quicker and still have a good highway rpm on highway? etc. thinking of getting one for my 67 cuda. asking for pros and cons. comments??

If you got the bucks,do it. No,I dont have one but my thinking is,extra low 1st gear or overdrive 5th? I lean towards low 1st and a freeway gear in the rear. A friend of mine did put a doug nash 5 speed in his Demon about 25-30 years ago. Didnt keep it in the car all that long. Never asked him about it though.

thanks found out tremec does not make one for the a body but silver sport transmissions takes trans apart and mills the case for the tortion bar clearance and has different crossmenber , so it is there kit. shifter comes up stock location, new driveshaft included
