That was not a good day. I actually remember that. As child. My mind thought the moon adventure was over. Not understanding we had other astronauts. The 60s seemed to be a volatile time of bad news. Especially by '68. But '69? New Hope. And Neil Armstrong's step for mankind was part of that hope.
A tragic day for sure. May they Rest In Peace. Kim

The Russians already had experienced this problem. The sad part is that any person that had experience at gas welding could have told them that this was a bad idea.
