Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if I was to buy a brand new 6.1L CRATE motor then buy the approriate wiring harness from S&P or someone similar, a stock 6.1L computer, and buy the external accessories like pwr steering pump, alternator, drive by wire pedal etc. and put this all together would it be the same as buying a 6.1L junkyard pull or would the crate motor not run right?
Basically is there a difference between the factory 6.1 and the crate 6.1? if i was to do this I want to run the 6.1 in its stock form but often the junkyard pulls are $6000+ for a 20,000mile+ motor and I know of a cheaper crate motor so my theory behind it all was maybe I could have a brand new motor and put all the factory gear (computer etc) onto it for maybe around the same price. I want to avoid having to run an aftermarket computer. Hope this makes sense.
