So I noticed you can get used factory forged 6.2 crankshafts and new forged 6.2 aftermarket rods. Add in some replacement forged 6.2 pistons. Does this sound like a doable foundation for a turbocharged hemi on a budget?

I have a 6.4 block that may need a hone or small boring. Just tossing around ideas for a build.

It would be the same as starting with a Hellcat shorblock, so why not? Sounds like a great way to build a bulletproof shortblock made for boost.

How does that cost compare to the drop in forged pistons and rods that you can mate to your factory forged 6.4 crankshaft? Like these:

I am looking for a forged crank as well as rods and pistons. I have seen 6.4 cranks that are forged for two or three times the cost of a used 6.2 crank.

The MMX drop ins are the exact options i Am looking into but with 6.2 compression for turbo supercharged applications.

Thank you for the thoughts and comments.

Ok so you don’t have the factory crank, just the 6.4 block? I guess you have a blank canvas in that case.

I see used hellcat short blocks in my area that are decently priced. I think that would be a great foundation for a turbo build. Basically same thing you are proposing.
