/6 Hooker Headers...surprise

Tell you what..disconnect the choke on one of these things, and let it warm just enough so that you can power brake it and launch.
Then, drive it around for ten minutes and repeat.
The seat of the pants difference is profound
This is the problem w/the Slanty, manifold/header radiant emissivity and intake finish/material radiant receptiveness causes way more inlet charge modifications than any
poor old carb can adapt to. Ambient, load, & operating variables can affect the inlet density and mixture demand from one handful of seconds to the next, and that can
happen multiple times between pulling into the staging lanes and pulling up to the staging lights!
Nobody here is arguing that cooler-denser air doesn't make more power(jetted correctly of course), but in the daily operation the heated intake reduces the variation so
that the less than perfect carbureted system stays in an acceptable ballpark for all conditions.
I know, I ran a welded 2-piece Super Six intake w/the MP 6 into 1 headers year-round with a chokeless Holley 2245 on top.
One thing that doesn't build horsepower is fouled plugs, even if they don't result in a dead misfire, they can cost You..............
