on the back of the carb body there is a plate with 2 screws, inside it looks like some sort of spring with a small brass plunger. This carb was missing pieces and I'm not sure if anything else goes in there. I can't find a diagram anywhere that shows this plate or the parts behind it. It is a 4791 carb and if someone could tell me anything about this it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Under that plate is a bimetal spring plate that opens when hot and lets in more air. I think I have them if you need one, let me know.

Ok , it has the bimetal spring plate in there but I just didn't know if something else might have been missing. Also looking down through the top of the carb it has an open hole that leads into the chamber where that bi metal spring plate is, should it be open ?
 
Sorry for the delay but was out for the holiday. It should be closed off cold, there should be a half round ball that is riveted to the bimetal plate to plug the hole.
