Well, after 60 hours of holding a TIG torch and Spool-gun, I am now i-car qualified to do automotive structural repairs on aluminum.

I'm confident I can do a safe and correct repair but 60 hours really isn't anything but a starting point to becoming a good welder.

Congrats,
You are finally a red neck !!! LOL
What are you going to weld first or make...

I remember when the little Honda came out that was aluminum..... the shop finally had to get a spool gun lol. Good job.

Your now qualified to build one of these.

Congrats. Ive been welding for quite awhile, but just recently started using a spool gun. Took me a little while to get the hang of it, but Im getting there.

Good for you congrats! I worked in the welding trade for 10 years before going to my current job.The last 5 or 6 of them were in a shop where we built fire, rescue units and ambulances plus lots of truck trailer repairs.I did lots of AL /SS mig and tig work .A proper tig weld is a beautiful looking thing !

Can't weld yet but I can sure burn holes in metal similar to swiss cheeze
