Good afternoon Fabo.

I’m going to rebuild my 904 for my 6.4 hemi duster. I don’t know a lot about the 904. I’m looking for a parts list that will hold around 600hp and about 450ft lbs of tq. I won’t be running a trans brake and I already have a converter that’s been specd out for my combo.

Would one of you transmissions geniuses point me in the right direction for a parts list that will hold up to a moderate amount of bracket racing and some street miles.

Thank you in advance

There is a reverse wound drum spring out there that makes the 24 spring pack deal an extra you may not have to drop $'s on. $30ish vs $100 or so

Be SURE you put in a Bolt in Sprag as that
is one of the very weakest links in our experience

I have done a few, but I am not a expert. But in my experience, I have used the bolt in sprag, A&A aluminum front drum, multi spring kit for the drum, modified the front pump for better flow for the front drum, and the A&A front pump gear set. Good clutches, steels and bands. And proper clearances. The only issue I had was breaking the pump gears in the AMX I drive. The AMX has been 9.90 in the 1/4 mi. at 3200 lbs.

Put the D drive A500 pump gears in it. That solves the tang breaking that 904's tend to suffer from.

Front drums in a 904 are a waste of money except for weight reduction and potentially chasing every .001/second. Stock 904 drums work fine for almost every mopar on the planet.

It can easily be built for 600 hp and 450 tq but i would talk to chris andrews about making it live with a brake .
