I found a 10 year old demon 625 for sale on fingerlakes ny craigslist for 175 bucks. Is this a good deal? Did they have some quality problems?

Yes. They were still made by Barry Grant then and had horrible QC issues. Metal filings inside the carburetor just to name one.
