This bar has been repaired not reinforced . They all tear right in that area because they are weak.They are bored out on that side to take the teflon bush and the pipe is just too thin. I've had just about everyone in the last 40 years I've been driving Valiants do this.The solution is to take the levers off the orig pipe and weld them on to heavier pipe then make a bushing to bring the ends to the right ID . Yes,you need this part to get the levers and make a jig so you can install them on better pipe in the correct orientation.It is used in 64-66 A bodies for both V8 and 6 cyl . https://www.flickr.com/gp/2stroker/ze4R35
