I putting my manifold back on ( I didn't take it off), but according to the manual , I should have 8 triangle washers, I have only 6 the rest are conical. I know everthing is original . If I only have 6 where do they go, If I really need 8 where Can I purchase a couple more. If anyone has a couple of triangles, and wants to part with them , I'd be glad to purchase, thanks in advance Jim.

I believe the real early 6's used the round washers in the center 3 studs but right around your year they went to the triangle ones on the bottom two. The top center stud still used the round one. The ends should have a brass washer with a castleated (sp?) nut. The nut goes on the opposite of what you think....the domed part goes against the beveled center hole in the brass washer. This allows the manifold end runners to flex and move a bit when they heat and cool. The wrong fasteners (or if you tighten them too much) will usually result in the manifold cracking. Run a search on the proper installation procedure. There have been many threads about this on here.

I have all the nuts and washer and there isn't a brass washer, and castle nut , also you are correct about 6 triangle ,I researched it online, but I see on the center bottom the conical washer barely catches the mainifold on 1 side. I think I'll have to try and secure a couple of triangle washers, and the brass, nand castle nuts, thanks Jim.
