Anyone know if the wiper motor is attached to the firewall? I'm trying to figure how to deal with the hump the wiper motor uses.
It doesn't want to share space with a small block distributor
Someone posted that after moving the wiper motor, the linkage needed modification.
That doesn't seem like too big a challenge, compared with the actual "humpectomy".

Any more thoughts or ideas (and, yes, I've thought of a big block and a new hemi!) Thanks...

I went this route, goofy as it was.

I think if I had the skills at the time I would have went for the "humpectomy"! Re mounting the wiper motor using the stock horseshoe stud plate welded under the dash would have looked more appealing and made replacement distributors a pug & play. I think the linkage mods. wouldn't be to much. I have had no probs. with my mini for years. I'll re-bush it and keep running it. Food for thought!:glasses7:

Dude. That wasn't goofy. That was sheer genius. Dork. lol

I had looked at the posting the first time that was posted and missed the welding for lower profile. I had only noticed the non-vacuum setup and missed the big picture.

Like I always say, there's more than one way to skin a cat - but the cat won't like ANY of 'em! Going to your strengths and using the tools that are available is always smart, Larry.

One of these days I'm gonna have to get under the dash of my '63 dart and survey the area carefully. Maybe I can find a '64-'66 wiper setup to compare. Or just hotrod the /6!

By that you mean hot rod the /6 wiper motor? Right! LOL! Once you get under your dash you'll see there is quite a bit of space up there. For the small amount of material that needs to be removed for dizzy clearance, I think you could remount it and it won't be off much from where it was. This shouldn't keep you from V8 conversion plans as this is only a small hurdle in the in the big picture. Motor mounts from Schumacher make the swap easy. Exhaust is a different story. You will need a V8 dropped center link as well...and the list goes on. Check out this list from member brummett:

Good luck with your decision.
