63 Dart What Rear end

I was told by the local pick a part there is a 63 Dart in another yard close by. They couldnt tell me what rear end was under it....did the 7.25 come in these or possibly 8.75...just wondering because I would imagine it was a 6 cylinder car but am not for certain....and lastly is the width on this year the same as a 72 dart as that is why I was looking to purchase.

7.25 was it. That's what's in it unless it has been changed.

My 63 Valiant had a 7 1/4 3.23 rear with a 170'' engine.Width should be the same as a 72. I installed one from a 74 Dart with 2.76 for better highway crusin'. The 74 was 1''-1 1/2'' less in width(not sure actual mesurement) and was big bolt pattern. Lets hope you can score a 8 3/4 though I'm sure they were not factory in 63.

i would look for a 72-74 dart or valiant v 8 disk brakes i did the full swap on my 63 rear end bolted right up did the brake swap with a just suspension upgrade in busshings and A arms
