Hi all, first post. I just acquired a low mileage 1963 valiant. Someone painted it Honda civic silver in 1986 but other than that it’s all original. I’m using it as a daily driver in a major city, lots of stopping, and I want to address the weak 9” drums brakes.

I have oem 13” sbp wheels. I know no one makes a disk brake conversion for 13s wheels. I’m wondering if putting 14s in the rear and doing disks in just the rear makes any sense? Would that be effective at all? I know people do disks in just the front, but not sure if doing just the rear would be effective at all?

Also, does anyone make a disk brake conversion kit for 14” wheels? Or would I have to go 15”? I feel like staggering 15s and 13s would be pretty silly, but maybe I’m wrong and that would look awesome.

If I can avoid it I’d rather not have 14s in the front. I like the compact car look, and bigger wheels up front really changes or the look of the early Valiant to me.

Any thoughts/recommendations would be appreciated.

Also I’m looking for a Carter BBD either the appropriate 1963 throttle arm linkage. I have Holley 1920 problems and I’d rather not convert to a throttle cable. If anyone has one let me know!
