65 Barracuda Radiator choices

Stock radiator for my 65 is: 2524961. Probably needs a recore, but the tanks are nice. But on hand, I already have another SB radiator - that I had boiled and leak checked a few years back.

2524961: core 17x22 OA: 22 1/4 x 26. Stock: 65 Barracuda 273 2 brl, no ac, no ps.
2898038: core 18x22 OA: 23 1/4 x 26. I think it was from a 318 B body (coronet?).

Question: How much clearance is above the filler cap in a stock 65? will my replacement fit?? without the hood crunching it?

I would be nice to use it, since I could dress the 318 as a 273 with the drivers side waterpump inlet.......

Put a clay tower on top of the radiator cap and drop the hood. Open and check crush of clay. I dont think an inch will hurt and it may be at the bottom too

I think its probably at the top since the bottom is captured by the lower rad support. Rad. is out, car is apart. Can't do a fit check.

I'm hoping someone with an intact OEM 65 rad can check closed hood clearance for me.
