I am just starting to re-assemble my front end components after purchasing a front end rebuild kit from PST. Everything is coming together just like it came apart except the bushing that PST provided for the strut....
As you can see, the original rubber bushings don't look anything like the PST replacement pictured in the background. Even the 66' service manual shows the big bushings and washers that look like what was on the car originally. I'm not sure how to position the PST bushing (which side points to the front of the car), or what types of washers and nuts to use. The groove in the PST bushing looks like it corresponds to the opening on the car's frame. Do I just lubricate the PST bushing and force it through the hole? How do I tighten this arrangement up with washers etc?
Should I try to source the original bushing parts from another supplier? Thanks in advance...
