65 dart convertible top ?

I have a question I put the top down on my convert and it would not go back up till I helped it half way up any ideas. The motor works and there are no leaks I can see

Can you hear the motor running while it won't go up? If yes, check fluid level. If no, check electrical feed or make sure the ground is good.

yes the motor is running but the top doesn't go up unless you help it so I take it I have top fill it with fluid
