So more and more that I look at the remote mirror I have for my car, the more I think it’s wrong. It’s an original piece (has Chrysler star with numbers 2802 30 46050 before it) but the control is different. I scored it at a swap meet, so I don’t know what kind of car it came off of, but all I know is mine originally had the remote driver side mirror, and I kind of want to have that back.

My first clue is the control doesn’t unhook from the cables, which I believe the early a body remote mirrors do. Someone butchered it long ago and put some random other mirror in its place.. so I’m kind of going from scratch. I think that this mirror is from a later model dodge.

sooo, here’s some pictures.. can anyone tell me if I’ve got the right mirror for my 65, and if I don’t, wanna trade for the correct one?? =)

thanks..

Figured. Do you think it'd work or should i figure out how to find the real thing? Anyone wanna trade?

i'm kind of curious if i could take the mirror adjuster off and hook up the original somehow. (i have the original one for my car, the removable one) The mirror themselves look exactly the same.

I've got the same deal...started changing mine over but it wasn't as easy as I thought and then I got sidetracked and never revisited...

Yah, I've got the correct adjuster thing still on my door (cars in the body shop), so i just took off the old one and destroyed it in the process:

I'm hoping the little knobs at the end of the wire will be big enough for the correct adjuster. If they're not, I'll just fashion something that would work. BUT it's much better than buying another mirror.

I took the whole mirror apart and polished every crevice too. looks awesome now.

Anyone done this exchange before? Any tips would be great. I tried to solder some stuff together but solder wont stick. I'm thinking of ghetto-tying a paperclip around the wire and the connector.. BUT id rather not do anything ghetto....
