I've recently installed a new smaller starter and realized how low my engine sits. The steering components are barely missing the pan, and part of it hits a rubber boot on my starter. I'm looking for better motor mounts, at least the rubber parts. It currently has the cheap RockAuto/Autozone thin rectangular puck, and I'd like to use some that are about twice as thick to lift the engine up a bit.

I was thinking of these, but if anyone else knows any better ones I'd appreciate it.

I've got a 318 swapped into this Dart, in case that changes anything.

What isolators are you using now? The early isolators 62-66 are thicker than the later isolators 67-72.

1st Gen Diesel Ram isolators can be used to lift the engine a bit.

RockAuto mistakenly lists the 2266 series motor mounts for '64-'66 Dart V8s- this is incorrect. Those mounts are for '67-'72 small blocks.

What you need are the 2338 series mounts (which are correctly listed under '65 Barracuda... huh.)

Currently out of stock at RA, but once you have the correct number you can look elsewhere.
(PS- It'll be a cold day in Hades that I pay almost $70 for a set of rubber mounts from Classic... if they're even in stock)
If you strike out finding some in stock, read this:

Both the 2469 and 2710 isolators are a big improvement over the hard to find originals, and for $5-$10 bucks a piece it's a no-brainer.
I personally used the 2469s and they fit and work perfectly.

That top picture is the current ones I have, and those other ones posted look at lot better. Thanks for the part numbers, I was really hoping to not drop $70 on those thicker ones.

I considered shims but I'd have to shim it at least a quarter of an inch, and at that point I'd rather just get the correct mounts.

That's the thing with Classic- they want to charge premium prices, but don't tell you they're out of stock until you're already in checkout.
For originals, check the usual sources- NAPA, O'Reilley, Advance Auto, etc. And classic providers like Layson's, Dante's and Van's.
Or get the truck mounts and be done with it, and buy yourself and the missus lunch with the money you saved.

Get the ones from classic, they’re the right one and beats trying to figure out how to cheaper ones work. I just picked up a set for my 64 and the worked perfectly. Good luck

I have ended up buying NOS for various early V8 off ebay.. yes they are $100 a set but there is no question they are right.

Just got the 2710's in the mail today, tried them out, and no luck.

The distance between the studs on the 2710's is less than the slimmer style, so it put the mount in the wrong spot. They were also quite tall, at least double the height which ended up being more than I need.

I may look into shimming the old ones. I only need a quarter of an inch or so, any more and it puts my output shaft angle pretty far down, especially since I have a gearvendors which exacerbates that issue. It'll be easy to return the 2710's so I'm not too bothered, it was worth trying.

They're the same height as the originals, so that shouldn't be an issue. About double the thickness of the incorrect later isolators, just like you asked for in your original post. The studs fit my motor mounts just fine, just like in the article I referenced; and I've done this on 3 different cars. Something else must be going on- do you have the factory mount brackets, or some aftermarket swap brackets?
Well, good luck.

I have factory mounting brackets.

I checked the later incorrect ones I have against the 2710s and there is definitely a difference in the distance between the studs, it ends up moving my mounting bracket about 3/8" further forward.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just something wrong with my setup, the previous owner did a lot of sketchy and incorrect work that I'm fixing. For now it'll probably have to be shims, but sometime down the road I'll have to tackle this again.

Thanks for the help and links.
