the nylon slider was missing from my trunk trsion rod, now that I took the rod out I have no idea how to get the slider onto to it...is their a trick to this??

What kind of material is that little piece?
Edit: I see you said nylon. I wonder if you could warm it enough to go around those bends.
Is the old one slit on one side?

It's either plastic or nylon, not sure. The torsion rod I took off the car was missing the slider all together, the one in the picture is still on the car, I just went down and looked at it and it is open at the bottom, but the new one isn't so I guess i'll have to slice it open to get it on
