65 - 68 use two - 69 uses one placed on the tail panel that is different in appearance and shorter mounting pins.

If you turn the emblem over, where are the studs located on the back of the emblem? Some had them side-to-side and some were top and bottom, almost positive 65 & 66 were different....I have a pair of 65's, I'll check. Don't mea to muck up the ad, just hate to see somebody buy them and they are wrong.

My ad is 100% accurate. A low post count doesn't equate to a low IQ.
FOR THE RECORD: Mounting prongs are vertical / up & down which is correct placement for the vehicles I mentioned in the ad. Also, as stated in the ad 1965 uses emblem 2579442 on one side of the car. That emblem has horizontal / side by side prongs. Also the lettering and background area around the "S" is black, the inner circle has red, white & blue paint and it is approx. 2 3/8" in diameter.
Please, anyone else who wants to deter my sale on these just chime in. I'll make sure I can return the favor down the road.

Hmmmm. I have had three 1965 Barracuda Formula S cars which were all un-restored original cars which all three had two emblems, one on each fender in front of the wheel opening. The 1969 I have helped to build had the black accented one on the rear tail finish panel, passenger side. Where are you getting the info that there was only one on 65's, because I am restoring one and want to make sure I haven't had it wrong all these years.
Thanks, bamacuda

As quoted from my first post...."1965 uses only one of these and part # 2579442 which has different mounting pin locations" 1965 uses two emblems...part 2579442 on one side & 2579443 on the other side. My original post does not state any reference for 1969 because these are not correct for that year. My second post clarifies that 1969 has one emblem placed on the tail panel that is different in appearance.

Wrong info. ...1965 uses two emblems, part# 2579442

I got to wondering about this so I took a look in my 65 Passenger Car Parts Manual. According to the info on page 23-25 number 3 shows 2579 442 Ornament fender side, Formula "S" (12-15-21) showing 2 were used along with 4 6026 095 nuts. So I then looked at the 12-15-21 on page 12-6. This is listed under Front fender parts - Fender Mouldings, Name Plates an d Ornaments. For that number it states Ornament, Fender Side, Formula S Barracuda with part number 2579 443. This stated 1 was used. Could each of these part numbers 2579 442 and 443 be used to indicate which side the Formula S ornament was used?

Yes, But I'm not familiar with which side of a 1965 uses 2579442 or 2579443. What I am offering for sale is the equivalent to 2579443 as described in my post

Since what you have doesn't have any part numbers, it shouldn't matter. In fact unless the pin locations are different side to side, it sounds to me like it wouldn't matter on originals either. At any rate, GLWS!

66340SEDAN thorough tech post has listed 1965 using two emblems, part #2579442 in which these emblems are equivalent to part #2579443...Thx, 66340SEDAN
