So got started on the car. Looks pretty encouraging so far. My big goal for this winter is to get the car ready for the dreaded Alberta Out of Province Inspection (my fellow Albertans will understand the HORROR).
It's a 1966 Barracuda with a slant 6. Very complete, all chrome and trim is accounted for and in very good condition except the tail lights. I'm ordering a pair from a fellow member, so that's taken care of (Thanks Dana).
Cleaned up & tuned the engine. Runs great. Need a new well choke assembly, crankcase vent line , heater core and coil (still works but has a stripped post).
Also needs the timing scale, no biggie, my grandfather-in-law timied it by ear. The man is like Yoda.
Traced and labelled all wiring. Bit of a mess...bad splices, improper gauge, etc. The washer fluid bottle is obviously not original, but it all works.
The body work will be the tough part. Major rot in the rear quarters, some minor rot on the fronts. Floor, doors, rockers, etc all solid.
Will be lifting the car next weekend to inspect brakes, lines, exhaust, suspension, steering, etc.
