66 Barracuda Windshield Replacement Questions

Hello all

I'm getting ready to reinstall my windshield and rear glass after paint and cage install. Do I need to use any sealant or is the new gasket and lockstrip sufficient? 100% leak proof is not all that import. It's a drag only car and may get upgraded to lexan at some point. Just wanted to make sure the sealant wasn't required to hold it in as well.

I have learned that for these to seal out the rain and water from washing, you need to put some windshield specific urethane sealant on the window flange/channel, install the gasket, I stall the glass and locking rope/strip and as an extra precaution, a thin bead between the glass and gasket.
