This is my 66 Dart wagon that I am working on converting to a Ute. I plan on making it as close to the Australian model as I can, but there will obviously be some differences since I don’t have access to original parts. Roof on this wagon was very rusty, but the rest of the car is pretty good. Has a slant six 2bbl engine with 4 speed A833 and 8 3/4 rear end. Has a 65 barracuda front clip. Bought this car from a member here 3 years ago and just getting into it now, but should be fun. Next step is figuring out the back window and fabbing up a rear panel.

I like that it's a slant 6. That's cool.

I would find a trashed '66 4 door, and use the rear window and rear roof section to form the rear of the cab- even the little triangular "wing window" shaped sections of the rear door windows could be incorporated into the cab to finish out the area immediately behind your doors...

I don’t think I will easily find a trashed 4 door 66 around anymore. Was planning on taking some measurements and seeing what the local junkyards have for rear windows, maybe from an 80’s small pickup or something.

When I got my 65 wagon, i was considering doing the Ute conversion. I finally decided on doing a 2 door sedan delivery (or as some call them - panel wagons).

I used 66 2 door sedan doors and the sedan’s B pillars to give it better proportions rather than use the smaller sedan/wagon doors. After completing this project and if I live long enough and find another wagon, I’ll do a Ute. Following along on your conversion
