I'm one step closer!

(MODS this is NOT a sale ad it is just an announcement of an up and coming part)

As you may know I reproduce the cams for the folding rear seat.

Last weekend while picking, at a soon to close wrecking yard, I scored the center lever, square rod, hinges and other linkage for the latch mechanism.

Some CAD time later I have a working prototype of the center lever that fits on the square rod.

My metal printer is on holiday but in a couple of weeks I'll have some printed in stainless steel

I'll make a sale ad when they are available.

Would there be any interest in reproducing the chrome lever knob?

BTW... if any one cares...

The rod measures 0.308" square and 43.5" long

5/16 bar stock measures .313" and the inside of the lever and cams measures in the 0.320" range so it might fit?

Yes, very nice. The plastic bushings that these run on tend to be missing.
I have the CAD for them BUT store bought brass or nylon ones will work

3 are required if you replace the inner one too. (they are all the same size)

This is what I measured off a good condition bushing I expect some dimensions might be wonky from 58 years of age

0.58 ID is a very loose fit to the cams like 0.020" over size

I saw lose a while back. depending on the material they might work.

Mine are stainless steel!

Which would you rather put on your car?

That's a super job on those!

Very nice work and a welcome replacement for a hard to find part.

hose look like carbon fiber.
the stripes are the filament of a FDM printer and they might be carbon reinforced filament. It might be plenty strong. But its not SS!
