I have one of those here. I cant testify under oath that it will work on a V8 if installed upside down but,,, I cant see why not.
It has one little beveled spot that provides clearance for the original lower hose clamp. That bevel would come to the top. A worm screw type clamp on the lower hose doesn't need the same clearance. Hope this helps.
