I asked Rick from Layson's to send me a set of the 67-69 dart hood trim --to test fit on my 69 dart-- He did-- I will show some pictures & hopefully they are detailed enough for all.
1st 3 pics old trim on my car- center piece is distorted by someone trying to polish it(not me)

conclusion: The only issue with the trim is in the "S" portion of the hood, this trim does not fit as snug as the factory, there is a slight gap. The only way to see this gap is to look straight down directly above the hood, you cannot not see it from the bottom, any other angle you will not notice this, you have to look for it to notice the gap.

my original pieces fit better at the "s" portion -- but had other issues

That gap would drive me nuts if it were my car....otherwise looks good :glasses7:

The trim actually fit better on the p/s than it did on the d/s.(on my car)
You have to re-use your old clips.

These would be a great piece to most any 1967-1969 dart.

I also did not use all the mounting clips for speed & less chance of scratching up the new trim.

I have read other concerns on this type of trim-- being flimsy & fitment issues-- but I have not been able to read exact issues--
As all FABO Ers know everyone will have an opinion.

I would use these on any street driven car & most show cars

At the time of this posting $119 for the set + postage

Rick@Layson's on this board made the sample set happen, thanks Rick

Lawrence

could you massage them to correct contour?
..that's the beauty of a flimsy repop...easily re-shaped.
..so how are these pieces?

My oem stuff is in great shape....except for the finish. When the car got painted EZ stripped the anodizing off and buffed it....shot it with clear. He did tell me that it will not last forever. Plans are just to ship it and the grill to the Queen of Powder Coating some day....

I did not try to massage them-- I think will all the mounting studs attached & a little adjustment -- the gap would even be smaller, like I said the p/s had no noticeable gap. Lawrence

Good to know there is an alternative to hunting down useable old stuff
