sorry new to this. I just bought a 67 barracuda fastback. It says it’s a sport. Is this the same as a formula s?

Who says it's a "sport"? I have 2 "S" cars (67&69)and nothing says "sport".

The "sports" term is generic, it doesnt differentiate it from any other barracuda.
For 67, the "upgrade/performance" pkg's were the Formula S. That is deciphered with "f7" on the fender tag.
5th digit on vin also deciphers motor size. "E" is 273 Commando, "H" is 383.

Typically the "fastback is referred to as a "special hardtop", probably what that decoder was referring to.

See the row with the capital letters?(2nd letter row from top)
The "F" should have "7" directly underneath it for Formula S. I dont see that, but no big deal.

Oh thank you. I’m happy with my barracuda either way. It’s a nice project car. I have another question. The originals came with a 273. The person I bough this from said it’s a 340. The cover says it’s a 340. But I’m not sure if it is. I’ve looked for the stamping but I haven’t found it. Can anyone tell if it is a 340. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I forgot which side it on but one side dr or pass has the code and the cid is at the end and the other side has the date and time it was made. Its on the block between the deck and pan. Ilrc its kinda in the middle of the block.
