OK, so I've seen these in black, semi black, 'natural' stainless, shiny stainless, different than the tail light pieces, the same, etc, etc.

What is the correct color for the center piece and the tail light pieces?

Just referring to the center piece only, is that a bare aluminum texture/color in the center, and a polished stainless on the outer edge?

Is there a specific reason why people paint the center, either full black or semi black?

Different for the Formula S maybe (not)?

Outer edge is polished aluminum. My center was plain aluminum...I painted it
and the new tail light lens piece argent silver so they would match. The tail
light metal piece was a little different color than the center piece.

I believe any other color is done by the owner. I almost went to black but
decided to keep the silver color.

I thought I heard somewhere that the hurst or formula S cars had that trim panel in red? or was that the area around the trim panel itself? Correct me if I'm wrong

nevermind, I was looking at a 68 formula S that had a red tail panel, havent seen anything like that on a 67
