So I take this crank pulley and front cover from a 68 273 thinking I could use it on a 69 340 engine. It's a 3V pulley for AC car and has rubber insert around V closest to radiator. Think that's for AC. Anyway, the rubber is soft and cracked. How is this constructed? would it be safe to use? Thanks

I think it was to dampen the harmonics between the pulley,a/c and crank shaft
Your pulley is in better shape than mine.

Many Thanks, Sedanman. That makes sense. I may just switch to 70 and later pulleys, radiator, etc.
