Probably 906 heads which made the 383 a ¨MAGNUM¨'. Location and details on rebuild if you have it.

Duh, I was being a smart ***. I guess I should have made the point that all the cylinder heads eg. 915/906/902/452 etc. are all interchangeable between the 383/400/440. In 67 the 915 was revalved with 1.74 exhaust and was supposed to be for the 67-440 but who knows anymore right.

even 2 bbl 383's had 906 heads in 68, magnums had the 440 hp cam, springs, hp exhaust manifolds, windage tray, 67 915 heads came with both 1.60 valves and 1.74, the 1.74 were in the HP car models, and the 915 heads with the 1.74 valve will usually have a HP stamp on the ends of the head.

You are never to old to learn. Thanks for the info.

As far as the rebuild goes, I know it was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. New bearings, rings, timing chain, cam and lifters, gaskets, etc. It runs pretty darn good. It was in a Dart that I bought and am going back to a 340 in it. The casting number on the heads reads 2951250 i.e 440 heads. I don't know much about this big block stuff, someone asked about the heads and that's what I found out about them. I pulled the distributor and the cam looks great. The valve covers were removed and the heads look nice and clean. Like I said I want to go back to a 340, so I don't need this engine. I really don't need it laying in my way. Someone come get it out of here.

New it wouldn't take long. Somebody got a good buy.
