This is a March 1968 Car and Driver article testing the 1968 340 Barracuda, Javelin 390, Cougar 390, Mustang 390, Camaro 396 and Firebird 400.

In reading it, it seems that they tried their best to downgrade the Plymouth, but couldn't!

cool ... i know my stock bore '70 340 swinger has upset a lot of big block guys ... until we get up to speed that is ! from light to light its hard to beat ! ..
