Here is a detail of where it is at to get it going, all known issues:
I have the original motor in the garage that was swapped out for a
'73 318 that was  still running with some valve tick. First gear went out so in the 727 so I non-opt in 1996. The original '68 motor has been stored indoors-should be rebuild-able. Two motors, Three sets of heads (including original). I acquired the car age 15 in '82 Dad holding the title over my head until I proved my ability to maintain and handle it.). The car has been maintained as stock with all the pieces still on the car, grills, hubcaps, chrome, lights, belts, console, dash....see more in pics...Driven as a daily driver half time until 1996 when I parked. Original black and gold CA plates and a clear title.I always kept the car stock and never painted it though it has Bondo and bends from daily driving.... so paint is 50% original. Beige vinyl top is long gone. Never restored, just maintained. Redid the seats and carpet in the 90's It cranked last time I checked but the fuel line had clogged. Time to flush the tank. I was able to start it on fuel in the carb for a few seconds. I have not started it in the last five years and the carb needs a rebuild because it is seized. The '73 318 (only 120hp) that is currently in the car had weak compression on at least one cylinder, but this was not why I parked it. The 727 first gear stopped working so it'll need a rebuild or a temporary replacement...it is the original and it has never been rebuilt but adjusted a few times. The original drum brake cylinders will need to be checked and the master. The air cleaner is the only thing that seems AWOL under the hood. I have the washer reservoir. I did the rear end in the 90's. But the seal leaked and the gear are okay but make a little whine at highway speed. The windshield needs replacement from a tree branch in a storm. I left it because of the chrome and seals and it should be done with the headliner which is there but the thread is gone on some seams (could be sew up for now.) Air shocks in the rear seem to be holding up. Electrical is all there. original points ignition. Original motor (220hp at 4,400)needs rings and a cam looks like. I put
on rebuilt heads (still on it) and the rings blew within a few months. The original heads look reworkable. No smog in CA for this one...yeah! I would imagine the tranny mount and some suspension rubber is in need of replacement. I bet the rear bumper can be straightened. Radial TAs have meat but are from nineties. The grocery getter level of operation could be attainable in a few weekends. Then do the aesthetic stuff over time.
