Layson's is the only place I ever heard of that had anything close to a repop, and it was much heavier and made out of stainless steel and was mega expensive. As far as I know, they are still made out of unobtanium.

Yes someone painted it black. I have a 67 piece that looks just like yours, wrong color.
my neighbor has several 67's trunk panels. 3 are black and look original. I had another friend that bought a formula s in 1971 it was black. I have seen them both ways and they do not look like repaints.
