68 Dodge Dart GT Convertible with 440 - I have had this car for 12 years and just finished the 440 swap everything is redone or new. I have about 100 miles on it since completion. This car was done the right way and is ready to go. I have a kid on the way so it is time to sell. The car is an original slant 6 car and has been in california it's whole life and is pretty much rust free. It has been in my garage dry and warm for the last 12 years and before that it was under a carport. I have well over 35k into it. I am not in a hurry to sell it so I won't jump on unrealistic offers. I will try to be as honest as possible about the condition of the car.

Body/Paint: The body is in great mostly rust free shape. There is a little bit of rust in the rockers and rear wheel well lip. So there are a few bubbles in those places. There are a few dents on the passenger side on the top edge of the door and front fender. The paint was silver base/clear and was done about 4 years ago(cost me about 4500). The trunk and engine bay were painted but no clear coat in the trunk. The GTS stripe is a decal. The grill and rear tail panel are in great shape. Floors and trunk are solid and rust free. This convertible is in very solid great condition and gets attention where ever I go.

The top was replaced about 3 years ago and works perfect and has no holes or tears and has a glass back window.

Interior: The interior seats are in perfect condition. White buckets with the rare hard to find headrests. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The carpet needs replaced but isn't that bad and only has one hole under the drivers seat. The door panels are in great condition. Has a stereo under the dash and 6x9's in the trunk with a Clarion amp. The console is in great condition with the original shifter and has a console tachometer. The interior is really nice!

Transmission: New rebuilt 727 TCI Streetfighter Transmission with about 100 miles on it. I had my buddy who builds race 727's go through and put better first and second and reverse bands in it from Cope Racing Transmissions. I just took it to the transmission shop to have the kickdown and line pressure adjusted and working correctly. It has a New Mopar Performance 2200-2400 torque converter. I put a large tranny cooler in it from Transgo. It shifts great and hard.

Driveshaft: New Mancini Driveshaft with 1350 yokes and u joints.

Rearend: A body 8 3/4 with 3:55 suregrip(that is not worn out). I put new Big Bolt pattern Moser Axles and Sealed Green bearings. I put the Big 11" Drums with all new parts from a Roadrunner. 340 Leaf Springs and new KYB shocks.

Front Suspension: A Big Block K member was located and replaced the small block one. Front 73 and up ALL New Disk Brakes and disk Master cylinder. New 990 Torsion bars. New KYB shocks. All new bushing and ball joints etc. I brought the car to the alignment shop and had the whole front suspension adjusted and aligned cost me $500.

Engine: 440- 30 over with speed pro pistons. Forged Crank. Stock rods. Mopar Purple 509 cam. Roller Rockers. New Indy cast iron 452 heads hardened seats. All ARP Bolts! New Mopar M1 intake with new Edelbrock 800 Carburater. High Volume Oil pump and windage tray. The motor is 10.5 to 1 and runs great on 91. Shumaker Tri-Y Headers into to custom 2.5 inch exhuast all the way out back and Summit mufflers. New Electronic Ignition. I have over 6k into engine and about 100 miles on it. It is about 500-525 horsepower.

New American Racing 15" Torque Thrust 2's with new Rear BFG 235-60-15 and new Front 205-60-15.

$750 Be-Cool Radiator that never heats up.

The Dart has custom stainless steel frame connectors installed so it won't twist under throttle.

The Bad: The car needs the power steering hooked up and a few dents fixed but is in overall great condition. There is a few cracks in the paint. The gas tank needs a sending unit so it works. I think the marker lights need to be hooked up with bulbs to work. The bottom of the hood is just primer b/c I was going to get a fiberglass hemi hood for it.

$28,000 obo

It is a nice car, and the color is cool! But the starting price was pretty far off from what it would sell for, but they say start high. In this market it will still be hard to sell at even the last price.
