Hi there .
working on my 68 GTS #632 ,340 4 spd. does anybody knows the correct color to paint the 4 speed trans on this year car,?
Any help is appreciated.

Never painted! Just clean it real good and spray a flat clear.
 
I agree that they were not painted. I painted my 69 tranny with Eastwood's Spray Grey. It looks a lot like natural Cast iron, and it protects and looks really good. I have also used it on Master Brake cylinders and steering boxes.
 
Yep. They were natural. I clear them when I rebuild them to simulate a natural finish but protect it so it wont rust. There aould have been some factoyy paint daubs on it.

rather than cast color paint you might try RPM.I have used it and it does a nice job.
