68 valiant trany help

i have a 68 valiant it have the 273 motor , what trany is in this car ? what is best way to tell mopar tranys ? i bought a 80 rv with a 360 four barrel motor im wanting to put in valiant would trany work that is bolted to the 360 ? would i need to get drive shaft cut ? tail shaft is longer on the 360 trany. would the trany bolted to the 273 work ? i heard i need to change flex plate . thanks for all input.

If it's a factory car it came with a 904. The 360 should have a 727 which has a longer tail shaft so you will have to shorten the d shaft or just use your trans and get a different converter for cast crank 360. It depends on how deep of pockets you have and how quick you want to get it back together. I would compare the flex plates but I think they are the same,the difference is in the balancer & converter. The 273 has a steel crank and the 360 is cast and most pulleys/brackets won't swap.
