69 Dart 6-pack clearance issues for a non-stock aircleaner..

Hi, new to the site but did read the new thread about aircleaners ("opinions")

We have a 69 Dart with Directconnection sixpack manifold and Direct Connection mechanical secondaty carbs.

We would like to show off a little of the carbs compared to the stock sixpack aircleaner. I tried looking at the link in that thread (about PROMAX aircleaner) but could not get it to open. We wondered about Dart hood clearance on an aftermmarket unit.

I was hoping to find a low profile finned top aluminum one to match our Offenhauser valve covers....or something close. Thanks

I think you`re okay if you use the stock thickness air filter. If you go larger (taller) you run in to clearance problems. The guy who does the Schumacher headers/motor swaps has a 69 Dart with a 440-6 and he gets it all under the stock bulge hood.
